Q: Hi, 2 to 3 times a week we juice for breakfast usually apple, carrot, celery, orange, beet, cabbage, and something leafy...(chard, romaine)...
My 3 1/2 year old loves it and drinks it all not diluted approx 5-6 oz. Is this ok? And can she have more? Daily? More than once?
Thanks, Frank
A: Hi Frank,
I wouldn't be so concerned about juicing for her. Yes, it is okay to drink it undiluted. I only mention this because its best to start off some kids that are sensitive this way.
Yes, she could have more daily. Juicing is food...and getting more raw fruits and vegetables will certainly only do a kid good.
The reason for some concern is that there is a risk of bacteria in fresh raw fruits and vegetables.
Adult digestive systems have no problem dealing with it. The younger the system, the more susceptible. If you buy from clean sources and wash the produce well you should have no problem.
I commend you for juicing for your child!
