Q: I've heard that it's best to juice only organic fruits and vegetables.
I find that it is a little to expensive for me to buy organic produce at this time.
Can I juice with non organic fruits and veggies or would it take too much of the nutrients out if it's non organic?
Thank you for your time.
A: Hi Marii, Yes, it's always better to eat and juice organic food. Organics are pure, don't have harsh pesticides and are not made from genetically modified seeds. Studies have shown that they taste better and have more nutrients.
However, if you can't afford to purchase organics, then it's always better to juice non-organic then to not juice at all. Juicing non-organic still has many benefits. Juicing will provide your body with good nutrition and way more vitamins in a more easily absorbable form (liquid) then you could get from eating the produce alone. It would be hard to eat a pound of carrots, but easy to drink a glass full of a pound of carrots. This concept doesn't change just because it's not organic.
Happy juicing!
