Almost all smoothies are low fat smoothies (and if not, its easy to re-do them to make it low cal). If you really want to be sure you aren’t adding fat stick to these two rules:
1) Use minimal amounts of milk, coconut milk or yogurt for your recipes. Using water or juice works just as well. Fat free yogurt is also an option, but does add a small amount of calories.
2) Stick to using just fruits and water. No ice cream or sorbet. No nuts or other fillers and avoid avocados. I personally think that all of the above mentioned are healthy in moderation and I eat them every day (not ice cream, but nuts, avocados, and coconut). But if you are watching your weight and need to be calorie conscious, know that blended fruit in the right proportions can be SO yummy!
Low fat smoothies recipes usually have the least calories when it’s only blended fruit and water, so stick to that. If you do prefer a creamier smoothie, add a wedge of avocado, a few tablespoons of coconut milk or natural fat free yogurt, or a banana. Banana’s make smoothies incredibly creamy
