Q: I usually drink a veggie green and phytoberry product made by Progressive Nutrition on a daily basis. Are these effective and safe to use on a juice fast?
They are powdered fruits and veggies that mix with water. Would love to know if these can be utilized while cleansing.
Thank you!
-Kathy
A: Hi Kathy! Yes, technically, you could use these on a fast especially if you are in a pinch and can't get to real juice. They have these type of products for just barley grass, carrots, etc. They are safe and effective.
They are good, however, I don't think you should do an entire juice fast or detox program on them. While they have many nutritional benefits and are the next best thing to fresh juice, they are not fresh juice. Fresh juice is live and nothing can beat that. And even live juice starts losing nutrients shortly after it's juiced.
I would use this to supplement only, or add to your juice for extra nutrition. What a great idea to take this with you to work or while traveling if you can't get the real thing!
