Yogurt smoothies are some of the best! Yogurt makes a nice addition to any smoothie recipe. It adds a creamy and semi-salty type flavor that give dimension to the recipes. When used with frozen fruit, it’s very milkshake-y. And adding vanilla to your smoothies with yogurt recipe reminds me of vanilla ice cream.
To be sure that you are putting the best in your body, you’ll want to be sure you buy a quality yogurt. You don’t want the sugar, high fructose corn syrup or flavored yogurt. You’ll want to find natural live yogurt and organic is absolutely preferable.
In my area, we have several choices. Some of my favorites are Nancy’s and White Mountain brands. Be sure to check the label for natural live probiotics and be sure it’s just plain yogurt.
Most brands offer whole milk and low fat versions. Both serve the purpose for your smoothies the same. The low fat versions are usually waterier, but that’s no problem for your yogurt smoothies recipes.
